School as we know, in derogatory terms, sucks. What the hell are even going to school for? To socialize, yes. To study, no way. Some say the system is all wrong, some the teachers are all wrong. Some say the students are all wrong. What do we say?
As a student, like five-hundred thousand of the others, going to school is more of a place to get together with mates and have fun while we still can. Honestly speaking, all is well. Till we realize as we "grow up" that school is but a place to socialize. No longer are we all gonna be ready to stick our noses into text books for, who gives a damn? Your parents? Your teachers? Or what, your friends? Ha, up me bloody a**.
Now,lets not get carried away here. School is important, only in the last century. Learning ain't about going to school for six hours a day, staring at some writings on a white board and pretending that you understand what your teacher's saying. Bollocks. But rest in peace, for there is hope.
Students should be given a voice. It's a stupid thing to say that the kids are just kids. Well then, teach us. We want to speak. Now, stop sniggering, it's a free country. We should be given the opportunity to say something, to strike back, to spit at the disdainful faces in the office, figuratively speaking. Lo and behold, change is upon us.

Oh, the food!
We Malaysians have a knack for food. We eat LOADS of things(which are so many that they cannot be named here all at once). Dieters find it hard to diet here for the temptation is just too much to bare. Penang has been a place for food lovers for far too long that it should be named "Penang, Where Malaysians Go Crazy For Food".
One thing everyone should realize is that(in Malaysia at least) the best of food is usually at the dirtiest places. No use going into a fancy hotel and ordering a cendol. You should just go to a 'lorong' behind a shop and have your cendol. There's a place in Penang, where a man's selling cendol like hot cakes, in a 'lorong'!
We live for food. No doubts about that. Malaysians are suckers for good food. Foreigners should definitely get a guide to take them around, else they end up in some hotel serving them fancy food in a fancy place with fancy air-con. But hey, in Malaysia, we are suckers for good food.

Speak Your Godd**n Mind!
Ever heard about Toastmasters? Well, now you have, and good thing too. It's about speaking, listening, communicating, talking, hearing or whatever you call it! And it's amazing. Communicating is one of, if not the, most important aspects in becoming a someone, turning into a successful person and all that.
Expressing your views is vital. You may not be a good doer, but hey, you're a good speaker, and that's bloody darn good enough. If you can't talk, you continue doing the same thing on and on. Apologies to those offended, but really, look around, every successful person speaks well.
Fear is there, and fear is unavoidable. Fear is good. Fear is bad. Fear is what we feel the minute we stutter in our speech or before we give our speech. Fear, if used properly, is great. It helps, if only you listen to it, and try to beat that fear. As simple as ABC, right?
To be honest, communicating is tough. It's the worst anyone can feel, given the circumstances. Anyone would be beaten down like a bug, beaten down to the knees, feel like crying like a whining baby, as if they feel they are doomed to fail. But, mark these words, it's those moments when the champions in them rise and take over. They speak, and they speak well.

Energy-Draining
There is a quote, "Our mind is the greatest asset, invest in it." If the mind is the most powerful thing we have, we should ,by all means, get hold of it. It doesn't take a genius or a "bomoh" to rid your mind of, should I say, "devilish" thoughts. Control may seem like the normal step to be taken but apparently, it's not.
Some choose to play it cool, leaving your emotions to take over you incidentally. You become a lifeless person, not utilizing your thoughts to its max. Others try to cower beneath their thoughts, opting for the easy path, eventually, the mind takes over them, not otherwise. Fear is taking over.
Now, for the risk-takers. These are the folks, who are good at what their doing. They have control. They realize the importance of using their fear, anger and other "wild" emotions to their advantage. Life kicks, but they kick back.
If the mind is the greatest asset, then it should be grown. Risks are to be challenged, not avoided.

Patience Is Key
Everyone needs to be patient. To be calm and composed is vital in times like this. Nobody likes to go around being pushed into doing something rash. Sometimes, there has to be room for thoughts, room for rationalization, room to get stronger mentally.
True champions don't go about telling people they should do this or that. They stay calm, cautious but not too much on the fence, until they decide that what they do is the right thing, albeit the hardest thing. Some champions make mistakes, which lead to losses, but they know, if you learn from your mistakes, well then, you haven't really lost. Thanks for the quote, Mr Zig Ziglar.
Expectations are inevitable, but are appreciated nevertheless. With high expectations, comes great improvement in what we do. Progress may be painstakingly long, but what matters is the result. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
It only takes a moment for Liverpool's luck to change, and then we can all say, "It has been coming" .

Moaning About Money
Have you ever read Robert Kiyosaki's Book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad or Increasing Your Financial IQ? Or either one of his life-changing, what-I-should-have-done-with-my-money books? It's amazing. To start off, it's not just about money or education - i.e. college degrees (my apologies to the offended),it's about getting more financial education. It's about learning, rather earning.
This may sound like a biased article about his books, but really, it'll change your thinking about money completely. He states that "the poor work for money, but money works for the rich" . There are often two simple questions in your life, would you rather have the problem of having too little money or too much money? You decide. Oh, by the way, your thinking decides your life -without exaggerating.
Some are just not willing to make the extra leap for money, thinking money is the root of all evil. Figure this, the LACK of money is root of all evil. Greed also leads to the dark side. Money is the number one factor we are all not satisfied with our lives. However, like the old adage, be careful when we talk about $$.
Last note - Liverpool are in for a turn-around this weekend. C'mon ye' scousers!

Dreams, Just Dreams
What a week. School has been something of a "thing of the past". Yet, strangely (for you and me), something tells me I should be going to school. There has to be something here regarding the lack of excitement with what I'm doing nowadays. Enough said, this isn't a time for lectures.
Many people have always wondered about their dreams. This may sound a little flat, but some believe - including myself - that dreams are unachievable. Though not proven, I've got a feeling that 95% of people do not fulfill their so-called dreams. On a positive note, 5% of people get within a whisker of their ambitions, and therefore, being of the opinion, "I have been able to reach my lofty expectations". Well, credits to you guys out there. The real question everyone's facing now, how the hell do are you gonna fulfill, drive, reach, or even come close to your dreams? To me - and I hope everyone, that is pure success.
Quote for today, " We learn from mistakes, not successes " .

In The Hellhole
It's always tight in current situations. Liverpool find themselves in deep sh*t, while I'm feeling pressured all the time. Well, what's life without without challenges?
It had to be a win. Or, as they say, bust. Performance-wise, it was superb from the Reds. It may have been a turning point of the season, and it might just be. Whatever happens, we must take one step at a time. Just like how everything's going now for me.
Just reaching the end of the year, it has not been plain sailing. Cut it short, triumphing over adversity is a team game.

A Penny For Your Thoughts
It has been a good week for Liverpool. All we've got to do now is focus on the next game. Belief is always important in games away at places like Fulham. Trust Rafa to tell his players to play to win,not otherwise.
Judging by the vast amount of time I have,I should be able to write more. Sadly,it has been nothing but well, nothing. It's a strange thing in life when you wake up in the morning, feeling good, but just not smelling the roses.
To say the least,I have been more 'secretive' . Looking for some sort of inspiration, instead,I could think of anything but the real picture. The mind has been slowly dysfunctional (a little rebellious too) , I would say. What do you - or I - think? Now,that's all that matters .

Change Youse Must!
To pick a quote out of Rocky IV the movie, it's just not what the week Liverpool have been looking for ahead of their clash against Man United. When was the last time they lost 4 games in a row? 22 years ago. It's amazing - at times shambolic - to see them in this hole.
I've read loads of things about Liverpool (even heard of some really make-me-wanna-punch-them-in-the-face things). Some say they can't cope with Stevie and Nando'. Not too be judgmental, this comments are plain absurd. Have you watched last season's match at home against Man United? Others say they haven't got the firepower. I can't go too deep into that one,but just you read today's Star newspaper football pull-out.
Now,please do not get me wrong. I'm no crazy Liverpool supporter out to besmirch other teams and just worship mine. I only hope you get your facts right first. This weekend's match against Man United is huge, it could prove to be a morale booster or a kick up the a** for Liverpool. If Liverpool play with belief, I dare say that even the second-strings of second-strings can beat them. But,change we must.

Joy?
It has been a week since the end of my exams. I have to say,it has not been what i expected. It was as if i was waiting to sit for another exam. I knew i was supposed to be happy, but some part of me was just.. plain old bread. Anyway,we should all rejoice for it is all over.
On a frustrating note, news came that Mr. Liverpool was injured. In case you were unaware, this blogger is a Liverpool fan (so,shy away now,Devils). For all that has been said about their chances of winning the title, they're still very much in it. I still believe,to say for the least.
Whatever it is,it has been a long time coming for.. for what i am feeling right now. Chances don't come by everyday, and i should be grateful that I've got some free time. But,is it joy?

Review of The Week!
Movie : The Avengers (2012)
Awe-inducing, funny and action-packed, this could be the superhero movie of the year (not that there are many).
It is unusual for directors to modify the genre of superhero movies. To be precise, if we are looking for some popcorn entertainment, Joss Whedon could have easily turned this into a full-blown alien-versus-superhero affair (that actually would not be too bad). Interestingly to note however, he does not. With an affinity to blend action scenes with tongue-in-cheek humor, he balances the tone of the movie to be both rewarding and most definitely, superhero-themed.
There are plenty of noteworthy things you can brag about this movie. The cinematography, the script, the visuals, the cast, the production design. Surely though, there would be one or two flaws, but they are not really meant to be called 'flaws' per se. Bending the laws of physics, 'saving the world' is saving the US and how Hulk manages to comply to orders are just some of the minor 'flaws'. These are probably things that you would just like to ignore for the sake of giving the director the benefit of the doubt.
It is quite evident that Whedon has made this film his own. He incorporates humor into almost every scene, as if things are not to be taken too seriously in the world of The Avengers. And it should be like that. Again, the emphasis on superhero movies usually lie on destruction, life-saving and personalization of characters. But here, there is some of that, but not completely. No chessy lines. No rushed pacing. No cliche-ridden narrative. (Just Loki speaking in a not-so-sharp English accent.)
The movie can also be likened to last year's Deathly Hallows (Part 2); a lot of hype, and duly delivered. At least we could expect how the last Harry Potter movie was meant to be : an emotional, epic battle. The Avengers did deliver but there is something different to the whole theme that somehow manages to change our view on how superhero movies should be in the future. Is it Robert Downey Junior's Shakespearean jab at Thor? Or is the excellent cinematography of sticking to single shots instead of quick-fire editing? Heck, it could even be Scarlett Johansson's semi-obscene display of bust. Anyhow the movie is a success, most definitely.
Unprecedented, now that is one word to decribe Joss Whedon's take on a superhero movie.
Personally*... Stay in your seats till the end; there are rumors that an extra scene is added to the US version of The Avengers, for compensation of the late release.
