Being objective ( I mean.. )

To be objective is to be precise. Huh? I mean, we have to be a little more clear. Whether we realize this or not, we gotta be clear. I found out that we motivate people better if we are more objective. How does that work, you might ask? It's simple.

Imagine you're in a football field, you're coach tells you, c'mon! You must play better! And you look at him as if asking, what? How in the world are we gonna play better? But.. like most coaches, he gives you a stare. In the end, you're clueless about what you seem to be doing. That's being subjective.

Normally, we are really subjective people. Of course, as how the world works, 90% of people have no sense of wanting to improve themselves. Sometimes, they're just too self-assured. They don't care whether in life, they need to learn about new things. So you gotta make sure you don't fall into that path. Learn and keep learning. What has this got to do with anything? It's being objective, that counts.

Being objective can also mean I'm saying no to something. It's like in the movies, when a couple is about to wed, suddenly, I appear out of nowhere and say no man, I love you, don't get married with this guy. I'm probably saying this is good for you, but nah, being subjective would do you much good, too.

So off you go, experiment a little. Or am I being subjective?

Comfy?

I've been in a comfort zone! Darn, we all have been in a comfort zone every now and then. What? A comfort zone? Never heard of it! You see, a comfort zone is a period where we feel comfortable. Metaphorically, it means we're not doing anything. Well, anything good or productive at least.

Now, I'm in my comfort zone because I've not been doing much! I've been lazy, arrogant and a little crazy. But nothing productive. If you don't know, I'm that kind of annoying guy who wants to do something and be inspiring. So what do I do when I'm in my comfort zone? Nothing. Why? Because when we are in our comfort zones, we don't know that. We just continue being fools of our own! Until...

Someone shakes us! Yeah, the old-fashioned wake-up call. I got mine, and it was a little sad. You start to realize why I've not been doing this and that. We realize how pathetic how life is! Doing the same thing everyday, without actually achieving anything. Many of us don't really care about all this. And good, that means you're in your comfort zone. So, who's gonna shake you?

The truth is, the ones who can truly tell us that we're in our comfort zone is the ones who we trust. If you know you can shake yourself, then sorry mate, you got that one wrong. It's not so easy telling ourselves to wake up from our slumber. It's not easy for us to tell ourselves to do something. That's why you gotta find that one person who can tell you whether you need to change or not.

Living with Emotions

I feel like bursting out in tears.. huh? No wait, I feel angry! Nah, I feel HAPPY. Oh no, I feel sad, angry and happy. How's that possible? I'm a little short of emotions, as I just realized. I've been a bit of a "stone" kind of person. I don't know if I can take it all in...

In the past, I didn't really realize the importance of feeling emotional. Y'know,  everyone seems to forget the one thing that defines us all. Our emotions! We probably don't know this, but more and more people are not 'feeling it'. To be honest, are you really an emotional person?

Now, you must be getting confused.. do I mean emotional in a good way or in a dramatic way? Well, that's up to you. I mean, I'm just saying, sometimes, we gotta be emotional. We should be brave at heart, and not think too much, and just do it! (thanks, Nike!) Feel it to do it. Some things only require a little emotions to work.

So, please, feel a little anger or anything that has got to do with your emotions. Then, you know everything's turning out just fine and dandy. I pretty much had an emotional week. Maybe, that's why I telling you about all this. I just feel that sometimes, we all need to have a little emotions in ourselves. Experiment with yourself a bit, and you might just feel a little better. Feel that anger, joy, sarcasm, guilt, disappointment, vanity, whatever!(but don't bite off more than you can chew) I did all that, but it's not enough.. maybe, I'm just emotion-less. Noooo~

Change- Is it really necessary?

"If I can change, you can change! Everybody can change!" "Tonight, the world's gonna change!" "In this fast-paced world, we must change and keep changing," We've heard these quotes a billion times. But what have we learned?  That we must change?

I'm sure we've all changed during some point of our lives. But, are we really changed? I've recently come up with  a conclusion, which is we change ourselves, only change back into our normal self. I'm sure I'm pretty right! I tried to be an angel, a new and improved person. But that doesn't work. In the end, as time wears out, it all becomes weird.. and before you know it, you're just the very same person you were. A depressed, rude guy.

So what's change for then? Is it just because your friend or your mother told you to change, you changed? Please, do not get me wrong, I'm all for change. If we do not change, we can never explore the part of ourselves which make us more special. We get to know ourselves better when we change. That's true.

So you know, change's not really a bad thing! I just feel change is over hyped, sometimes. Everyone thinks it's good, but it's not really as amazing as we think. But, we must change. That, I agree.

Review of The Week!

Movie : The Avengers (2012)

Awe-inducing, funny and action-packed, this could be the superhero movie of the year (not that there are many).

It is unusual for directors to modify the genre of superhero movies. To be precise, if we are looking for some popcorn entertainment, Joss Whedon could have easily turned this into a full-blown alien-versus-superhero affair (that actually would not be too bad). Interestingly to note however, he does not. With an affinity to blend action scenes with tongue-in-cheek humor, he balances the tone of the movie to be both rewarding and most definitely, superhero-themed.

There are plenty of noteworthy things you can brag about this movie. The cinematography, the script, the visuals, the cast, the production design. Surely though, there would be one or two flaws, but they are not really meant to be called 'flaws' per se. Bending the laws of physics, 'saving the world' is saving the US and how Hulk manages to comply to orders are just some of the minor 'flaws'. These are probably things that you would just like to ignore for the sake of giving the director the benefit of the doubt.

It is quite evident that Whedon has made this film his own. He incorporates humor into almost every scene, as if things are not to be taken too seriously in the world of The Avengers. And it should be like that. Again, the emphasis on superhero movies usually lie on destruction, life-saving and personalization of characters. But here, there is some of that, but not completely. No chessy lines. No rushed pacing. No cliche-ridden narrative. (Just Loki speaking in a not-so-sharp English accent.)

The movie can also be likened to last year's Deathly Hallows (Part 2); a lot of hype, and duly delivered. At least we could expect how the last Harry Potter movie was meant to be : an emotional, epic battle. The Avengers did deliver but there is something different to the whole theme that somehow manages to change our view on how superhero movies should be in the future. Is it Robert Downey Junior's Shakespearean jab at Thor? Or is the excellent cinematography of sticking to single shots instead of quick-fire editing? Heck, it could even be Scarlett Johansson's semi-obscene display of bust. Anyhow the movie is a success, most definitely.

Unprecedented, now that is one word to decribe Joss Whedon's take on a superhero movie.

Personally*... Stay in your seats till the end; there are rumors that an extra scene is added to the US version of The Avengers, for compensation of the late release.
