Maturity?

See, I'm under the impression that I'm losing myself. Sometimes, you begin to think why you lost control of yourself. Or why you went to your boss and said, " GO TO HELL, B***H". But I wonder, how do we all classify maturity? Is it the fact that you seem to understand things better? Or is maturity about keeping cool?

Yeah, it's a little old-fashioned. Maturity, in my opinion, is about not lashing out at people for no reason. About keeping your temper in check, and about beating the odds when the it's all going down.

Okay, thinking time. Now, think for a moment, how mature are you? Based on my 'observations', I would certainly not call myself a mature person. It's not that I lashed out at people, or threw a tantrum. I'm just plain ordinary, just like you and me.

Rest assured, I ain't gonna too deep into the mystical world of maturity. I just feel a little sore over what I've been through lately, and I just wanna make a point. So, do I feel matured? Yes, I'm afraid so. It contradicts to what I'm saying! Please, forgive me... like I said, I'm feeling a little.. blue.

(Yes, I see you shaking your head at the sheer disappointment of reading this blog.) Oh, something just struck me! I'm writing this because I have a point to prove. As far-fetched as this sounds, I just wanna make a statement.

Huh? Okay, cut the crap. Right now, change the mindset. Yeah, c'mon just say, " I WANT TO." Now, that for all us, is maturity. Feel it, don't lose it, do it. (wow, that's rather catchy) Remember guys, more than anything, we have got to be rational. Think before we do anything. Isn't that the whole point?

Commitments.. I Must Resist!

Ha-ha. My friend told me, " Adler, look, stop fong fei kei (Chinese)." It means in English, stop dilly-dallying. Stop saying yes, then say no, and then say yes again. I must admit, I'm one of those weirdos who prefer to fend for themselves. We geeks prefer to be cooked up in our own little world, and in other words, hate to do things for people.

Sorry. Yeah, I know it's pathetic. There are so many people whom I've disappointed. And I do feel sorry. Sorry for myself more like it. Imagine that! Oh, man.

Point is, it's our decision to move or not. " We are not swans. We are sharks." As George Clooney once said, we must move. The moment we stop thinking and moving for ourselves, we die. So, we gotta move. It's stupid to just sit, laze around, looking at the clouds. Not now. Not in this modern era. ( Wow, can't believe I'm saying this. This all sounds so Obama-like. Haha.)

Yeah, you probably feel lazy again. " What? C'mon dog! What's all this crap? Move?!" Bloody hell, wake up. You're not thinking straight. This is a time in our lives, when we feel it's time to move. And when, that moment comes, by golly, you gotta grab that moment.

So please, move!

p.s. : Mental block. Argh!

Ooo.. feeling guilty now, eh?

Lets get real. In life, we often get that painful feeling of something called guilt. Someone did something to you, and you feel guilty about it. Or you did something wrong. And you feel guilty. So, what's the point? I feel guilty, but who cares?

Now, now, don't try to get all macho. If you do feel a little guilty, say it. It helps. I gotta say, I've had people telling me, " Go to hell, you're an ass, I hate you, get lost, why the bloody hell did you do that?" Gosh, if you don't feel bad about those insults, you're immune. I'm not, so yeah, I feel that guilt.

I don't like it. Nobody does. It sucks being the one who has to endure endless criticism. Yes, I know, I did something wrong. You don't have rub it in. But, now, what do you do? That's for you to think about.

I just want you have a thought for second, we base our lives on not being guilty. There is guilt in everyone of us, and you have to feel it. You CANNOT ignore it! Never.. or else.. suffer. Simply said, you have to do something about it. If you don't see that, you feel that painful feeling inside you burning.

So, what are you gonna do about it?

Like a See-saw ~

Gosh. Look at the time. I'm late.. oh no! Argh! The boss ain't gonna like this.. but then, you remembered! Oh. Silly me, today's my off-day! This happens to me countless times. Believe or not, I sometimes wake up at 6 in the morning, trying to move my buttocks, but suddenly, it strikes my mind! It's a Saturday, I don't need to move my buttocks out of my bed. *Whew* What a relief.

That's actually not good. It's a wee bit lazy, and this often leads to a tired mind when I wake up. Yeah, you don't get what I'm saying, do you? Simply said, you gotta.. you gotta MOVE IT! Huh? What? Look, enough with all those crap metaphors, I want you to think for a second, think about the time when you felt a lil' bit pathetic about something, but it's indescribable. Weird, you feel that frustrating feeling.. arghhhhhhh, I HATE IT! I GOTTA STRIKE! I GOTTA JUST DO IT!

Do what, you might willfully ask? It's simple. Remember the time when you were an immature fool? When you felt that burning, wacky desire to want to be right every single time? Yeah, you feel that? You feel that? Now, relax, let it sink in. See, all that energy is what keep us alive. And we gotta use that energy, ladies and gentlemen, yes we must.

Amazing, see, this is where we end up. We are clueless. Somehow, we do not want to believe that we have POWER. We got it in our hands, we do. So, what do you do? Believe first, else you'll lose it. Now, I don't have the answer, I'm just like you, clueless. And I doubt that we'll stop being clueless. Clueless!

MOVE IT! Yeah, that should wake you up. Look, just because you're clueless, it doesn't mean you don't have the power. Remember, the power. Like I said, if you have the power, nothing can rock you.

Stand Up and Be Counted!

Today, I realized I was heading to the point of overconfidence. Now, you must be wondering why. To say the least, I thought every single person around me was a pain in the a** . Arrogance is what I felt, and luckily, everything turned out okay.

Have you ever felt as if you thought you would never be someone, whom you don't want to be? YES, my situation was somewhat like that! Amazing! I did not want to become say, an annoying brat, but somehow, I did! Funny, how things work. But, I redeemed myself a bit in the end (by pretending to be an angel in front of everybody).

Nope, it's not rubbish. Someday, we're all gonna be someone we don't like, and we'll be thinkin' , " Hey, who am I?" . Precisely, who are you? See, every once a in while, we'll feel a little down... I reckon, we only know who we are in these kind of times. In times of depression, that sinking feeling would be over in a minute if we only think like that. To me, we can be right back up in a jiffy, if we only give ourselves a chance. The point is, feel a little sad now and then, and you might just be whole different person. A WHOLE different person (in a good way of course).

Basically, try a little disappointment in your life, and you never know what could happen. However, readers beware, here comes the overconfidence. Gosh, you didn't see that coming did you? Or, you did feel a little over-the-top and tried not to? In the end, you DO become cocky. Ha-ha, the irony.

But, never stop trying. You are who you are, guys. It's a fresh perspective, right? Well, everyone has to get down on his knees.. and get up, of course.

"You may not like your team (and they may not like you), but you gotta show them some god***n respect!"

Review of The Week!

Movie : The Avengers (2012)

Awe-inducing, funny and action-packed, this could be the superhero movie of the year (not that there are many).

It is unusual for directors to modify the genre of superhero movies. To be precise, if we are looking for some popcorn entertainment, Joss Whedon could have easily turned this into a full-blown alien-versus-superhero affair (that actually would not be too bad). Interestingly to note however, he does not. With an affinity to blend action scenes with tongue-in-cheek humor, he balances the tone of the movie to be both rewarding and most definitely, superhero-themed.

There are plenty of noteworthy things you can brag about this movie. The cinematography, the script, the visuals, the cast, the production design. Surely though, there would be one or two flaws, but they are not really meant to be called 'flaws' per se. Bending the laws of physics, 'saving the world' is saving the US and how Hulk manages to comply to orders are just some of the minor 'flaws'. These are probably things that you would just like to ignore for the sake of giving the director the benefit of the doubt.

It is quite evident that Whedon has made this film his own. He incorporates humor into almost every scene, as if things are not to be taken too seriously in the world of The Avengers. And it should be like that. Again, the emphasis on superhero movies usually lie on destruction, life-saving and personalization of characters. But here, there is some of that, but not completely. No chessy lines. No rushed pacing. No cliche-ridden narrative. (Just Loki speaking in a not-so-sharp English accent.)

The movie can also be likened to last year's Deathly Hallows (Part 2); a lot of hype, and duly delivered. At least we could expect how the last Harry Potter movie was meant to be : an emotional, epic battle. The Avengers did deliver but there is something different to the whole theme that somehow manages to change our view on how superhero movies should be in the future. Is it Robert Downey Junior's Shakespearean jab at Thor? Or is the excellent cinematography of sticking to single shots instead of quick-fire editing? Heck, it could even be Scarlett Johansson's semi-obscene display of bust. Anyhow the movie is a success, most definitely.

Unprecedented, now that is one word to decribe Joss Whedon's take on a superhero movie.

Personally*... Stay in your seats till the end; there are rumors that an extra scene is added to the US version of The Avengers, for compensation of the late release.
