Going Bonkers

Am I mad?

See? Emotional Madness and Insanity.

Of course! So are you. Well, there must always be a time when somehow or rather, we feel psycho. It doesn't really matter why, what or how. But the fact that we are feeling crazy about somethin' ain't bad. It just goes to show our character, that's all.

Mad can mean many things. But it's probably all emotional. You could go mad doing something(insanity) or feeling something. Doing something again and again can obviously lead to madness, so no explanation needed. But to be mad while 'feeling something'? What?

Prematurely, this might mean being overly emotional. But, once you break this down, emotional could be pretty deep. You'd have to be (being a little cliche here) searching inside. Basically, be emotional. Be so emotional until we can't get any more emotional.

Wait, can we actually do that? Well, that's madness for you.

Now, Now... Be Honest!

Denial is okay, to some extent. There's always a fine line between sanity and insanity, right?

Hmm, yet we feel guilty. So what if I lied about something? So what if we stole things (which we feel obviously are more valuable to us than to others)? So what, eh?

No, I really mean it, man. So what? Do we have to own to our mistakes? Yeah, maybe.  Well then it's a question of right and wrong, I guess. If it is, of course we're wrong. After all, honesty is the best policy and lying is bad and blah blah blah.

What society needs, is a new level of thinking, one that opposes what we perceive as right or wrong.
But hey, I've got a better idea! Let's look at it this way; there is always a reason to why people do things which society deems dishonest. Whether it is for the right or wrong reasons, it doesn't matter. In the end, there's a balance which weighs the pros and cons suitably. For instance, I lie about going to church. Now, although I am able to sleep in or run some urgent errands, I do feel a tinge of guilt inside. The point is, the fact that I feel guilty can be compensated by the fact that I can do whatever I like with the free time. And, that's how people should see something that goes against the virtues of society.

Or should they? Heck, balance is the key to everything. And through the normal norms of our communities these days, we might never get that.

Does It Really Matter, Man?

Here's something to note down: There is really nothing that matters in life. Damn this philosophy.

However, can that really be proved? Can we really say that everything which revolves around us, everything that exist around us does not really matter? YEAH... if you are being emotional. Fortunately, you aren't.

The thing is, if most of what we know doesn't really matter, what does? And when I mean 'matter', I mean somehow having an affect on us in a way, which compels us. What we're searching for is something that really stands as a brilliant idea. That's what matters. So, if nothing actually matters anymore, what does?

Trying to deny this is pretty okay. Because c'mon, something must surely matter, right? We just need to convince ourselves. But how? How, how, how? And when feels too much of a burden, we go back to the theory; nothing matters.

This is sad, depressing to say. But hell, who cares? It doesn't matter. Or, maybe, nothing else matters. It depends. What if we focus on something so much, we disregard everything else? Maybe that's why nothing matters. But hey, screw it, it just ain't worth fussing over.

Screwing It- The Right Way

You see, if you want to succeed in anything, do it. With style.

I've been under the impression that hard work is everything. Well, it is everything, but it's just that it may need a little improvisations. Taking working smart for instance. If we work hard and smart we get to save a great deal of time. But, what if we do something with style too? Is it really that important to enhance some sort of swagger in whatever we do?

Sure, if you're Lebron James or Christiano Ronaldo. For those who aren't too hyped about style, they are just alright. By alright, I mean humble. For those who aren't and if style really is essential, they are just naturally cool. Wait, what? Cool? Yep, that's right, they're cool. And not just cool, but naturally cool. They don't need know that they're cool, because they exuberate pure confidence.

Okay, okay, I get it. I AM exaggerating a little, but hey, that's the price of incorporating style with whatever-the-hell we are doing. Because, sometimes, style is everything.

  Apple? They got style!

Thumping. A Real Thumping.

There should be a place where everyone is happy and carefree. There should also be a place where everyone is sad and resentful. And lastly, there should be a place where happy and sad people can mix. I'll be damned, if there were such places, we'll all be screwed. Screwed in ways we would all be surprised of. For instance, if I looked happy but I still feel gloomy, do I 'qualify' for the happy category or the sad one? Bah, who gives a f*** about all this?

Is there a demand for someone to be someone else? Is there really? Do we really have to be what we don't want to be just because that's the norm? Well, yes and no. If I want to be an introvert (but obviously society wants me to be more outgoing), can I still be one? Or do I need to be an extrovert just for the sake of it?

You see, the problem is, I think I want to be an introvert, but deep down, do I really want to be one? Do I really want to? In the end, this cloud of confusion builds and builds, and what happens? We do the impulsive, by suddenly being something we are not, before even considering.

Fact is, we are all too often influenced by what we think and what we think and what we think. Shouldn't we also think about what the people around us think? Be considerate. That's what we are looking for here.
Balance.
Listen and listen, think and think, for ourselves and others.

Review of The Week!

Movie : The Avengers (2012)

Awe-inducing, funny and action-packed, this could be the superhero movie of the year (not that there are many).

It is unusual for directors to modify the genre of superhero movies. To be precise, if we are looking for some popcorn entertainment, Joss Whedon could have easily turned this into a full-blown alien-versus-superhero affair (that actually would not be too bad). Interestingly to note however, he does not. With an affinity to blend action scenes with tongue-in-cheek humor, he balances the tone of the movie to be both rewarding and most definitely, superhero-themed.

There are plenty of noteworthy things you can brag about this movie. The cinematography, the script, the visuals, the cast, the production design. Surely though, there would be one or two flaws, but they are not really meant to be called 'flaws' per se. Bending the laws of physics, 'saving the world' is saving the US and how Hulk manages to comply to orders are just some of the minor 'flaws'. These are probably things that you would just like to ignore for the sake of giving the director the benefit of the doubt.

It is quite evident that Whedon has made this film his own. He incorporates humor into almost every scene, as if things are not to be taken too seriously in the world of The Avengers. And it should be like that. Again, the emphasis on superhero movies usually lie on destruction, life-saving and personalization of characters. But here, there is some of that, but not completely. No chessy lines. No rushed pacing. No cliche-ridden narrative. (Just Loki speaking in a not-so-sharp English accent.)

The movie can also be likened to last year's Deathly Hallows (Part 2); a lot of hype, and duly delivered. At least we could expect how the last Harry Potter movie was meant to be : an emotional, epic battle. The Avengers did deliver but there is something different to the whole theme that somehow manages to change our view on how superhero movies should be in the future. Is it Robert Downey Junior's Shakespearean jab at Thor? Or is the excellent cinematography of sticking to single shots instead of quick-fire editing? Heck, it could even be Scarlett Johansson's semi-obscene display of bust. Anyhow the movie is a success, most definitely.

Unprecedented, now that is one word to decribe Joss Whedon's take on a superhero movie.

Personally*... Stay in your seats till the end; there are rumors that an extra scene is added to the US version of The Avengers, for compensation of the late release.
