The power of connection has never really been talked about...
Beware, the power backfires... |
Which doesn't mean I have to bring up the topic now. Specifically, it is the thought that we are connecting with others that just eases our mind in ways unthinkable. (Wait, that doesn't quite add up.)
So, why connect with others? Theories anyone? Bah, because we already know them. And they are not theories. You see, when we are aware of the consciousness that permits us to 'feel' good, we begin to do things to reprise that 'feeling'. Apostrophes are for uncertainty and ambiguity.
Again, why connect? And again, theories? No, precisely, what kind? Theories according to the norm? Subjective theories? Simple, objective ones? Chances are, they are come down to this: we 'know' we want to connect, for the sake of 'feeling' good.
Yes, I hear you... it is unfair to describe people who connect for a living (or for the benefit of a living) as one-dimensional. But, undeniably, there is a knowledge -intelligence,really- that urges us back to the equilibrium we set ourselves to live in.
Anyway, back to connection. Associative coherence tells us that connection can pick up its pace in a matter of minutes, days. It tells us the 'good' things by inherently connecting the 'good' ideas in our minds with the act of connecting. Optimism bias, anyone?
